Amor Barroco & EGL Market
Amor Barroco is a project dedicated to alternative fashion events and experiences, created by Issis Starlust and Merkades, born from the convergence of their shared interests in history, art, and design. The project supports independent brands, artisanal production, and non-normative narratives, creating spaces where fashion is understood not merely as display, but as a language and a shared experiential practice.
Among the events organized by Amor Barroco are international projects such as The Grand Embassy and The Oddities Museum, conceived as celebratory formats in which fashion engages in dialogue with scenography, performance, and visual creation. These events bring together brands, designers, and creators connected to aesthetics such as lolita fashion, gothic styles, and other alternative currents, with a clear commitment to independent labels and a diversity of perspectives.
Through a vision that blends artistic sensitivity, theatricality, and a taste for the anachronistic, Amor Barroco creates and produces non-conventional fashion events outside traditional commercial circuits. The project promotes experiences that explore the dramatic and narrative dimensions of dress as tools for personal expression.
Beyond the organization of fashion shows and gatherings, Amor Barroco is characterized by its strong emphasis on artistic collaboration, inviting designers, creators, visual artists, and illustrators to merge disciplines and develop proposals that challenge and expand traditional ways of understanding EGL fashion.
EGL Market, organized by @armandentreri , Becky and @heka_sekhmet , has been gathering the EGL community in Spain since 2023 through events where fashion and creation share the same pulse, giving space to artists within the scene.
